This is a great example of residual income in real life. I was reading a newspaper on the train home from work tonight when I saw an article about Britney Spears and what she earns on average every month. Since her split to Kevin Federline, she has had to reveal her income to the Courts. The following is an extract from the newspaper article:

”Britney Spears is raking in £370,000 a month – more than £4million a year – despite not having had a hit song for three years. The troubled star’s last success was her 2004 Greatest Hits album and her last UK No 1 was Everytime in the same year.

Spears continued earnings power, from royalties, interest on her £65million fortune and income from her perfumes Curious and Fantasy, was revealed in court documents filed in her battle against ex-husband Kevin Federline for custody of their two children. The papers show that she still forks out £10,000 a month to K-Fed, even though they split last year.”

What really got my attention about this article had nothing to do with either Britney Spears or Kevin Federline, as frankly I don’t really care about the daily lives of celebrities, but it was the £370,000 a month residual income that Britney earns.

Britney has not had a hit song for three years, yet she is still making £370,000 a month! Do you think she works 09:00 to 17:00 like most employees? Not likely and if you’ve been keeping an eye on the papers you’d have noticed that she has in fact been here there and everywhere partying it up. How is it then that she is making so much money every month yet she is not working?

That my friends, is Residual Income!

Britney is being paid month after month for work she has done once! For each of her hit songs she receives royalties. She earns interest on her amassed fortune and returns on any investments and she has been clever enough (or her agents/managers have) to profit from her own brand and sell perfume.

Can only celebrities earn residual income? Nope, anybody can!

Obviously we can’t all go out there and release a chart topping song, but we can all increase our residual incomes, slowly at first but eventually, there is no reason why each one of us can’t be earning the same, if not more than Britney. There are a number of ways we can do this:

Start your own business – leverage off the efforts of other people.

Real Estate Investment – Leverage off other people’s money as they pay off your mortgage.

Buy Assets – leverage off the growth of shares, property, special minerals etc.

It’s not going to be easy to start off with, and there will be a steep learning curve, but once you master these abilities, you will benefit by being paid month after month for work you have done once – Financial Freedom!

According to reports despite the reported close relationship between Spears and her boyfriend and agent Jason Trawick, the two will not yet tie the knots. The rumors of the reported wedding of Spears and Trawick surface when the two were seen fondling and express sweet nothing with each other at a beach in posh Bahamas where the couple and Spear’s two sons spend their vacation.

Based on the report from the close associate of Spears, 27 despite their happy relationship the two had yet to decide if they would step to another level of their relationship, which is marriage. If ever the two will eventually “walk down the aisle again” in the future, it would be the third time that the pop princess will be married.

Spears was previously married to childhood friend Jason Allen Alexander on January 3, 2004, at The Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas. The marriage lasted 55 hours, ending with an annulment stating that Spears “lacked understanding of her actions to the extent that she was incapable of agreeing to marriage because before entering into the marriage the Plaintiff and Defendant did not know each others’ likes and dislikes, each others’ desires to have or not have children, and each other’s desires as to State of residency.

In July 2004, Spears announced her engagement to Kevin Federline, three months after they met. Federline had recently been in a relationship with actress Shar Jackson, who was eight months pregnant with their second child. Kevin Federline is known as many things, an unemployable former back up dancer, would be rapper, and a cad, who happened to leave his girlfriend while she was seven months pregnant. Most people cheered with glee when Britney Spears decided that it was time to put the kibosh on their tumultuous union. Yet, as of today if you ask anyone who they believe should be raising Sean Preston, and Jayden James, the two children he sired with Spears, most people would without hesitation say Federline. Only in Hollywood would Kevin Federline make the better parent.

Though Madonna has moved to England, and adopted some weird hybrid British American accent, she is a major player in the entertainment community. Madonna is probably known for her sexy persona, and her ability to push the limits, sexual and otherwise. What happened to the days of being famous for actually doing something? Antonella Barber, at least I believe that is her last name, I currently do not find her important enough to actually check, is making quite the stir this week. Antonella is the most likely contestant to be booted off American Idol as she sounds mediocre at best has made headlines for some racy photos making their rounds through the media including the internet.

Antonella, who had she any talent would have become famous for her singing but is now gaining notoriety for salacious photos that may be a marketing ploy on her part is doing what many other celebrity hopefuls do. She will become famous for being famous and not doing anything noteworthy at all. I’m hoping the hoopla will die down and an actual celebrity will begin to make headlines.

The accusation of Britney Spears child abuse saga came from K-Fed in his doggedly determined efforts to win the ongoing custodial case. Whether its true or not is another issue all together. An earlier and more dramatic Brits child abuse story had been carried out weeks before the latter. What was recently revealed in the Britney spears and Kevin Federline custodial case, is that Federline has actually been recieving $20,000 per month for spousal support from spears. The payments are however scheduled to stop by November 2007. If Federline wins the case he will not only get spousal support but also children support. K-Fed is putting up a spirited effort to win the case by showing Britney’s in ability to look after the children, including going to the Department of Children and Family Services. He also has got a formidable team of former couple’s employees subpoenaed to appear on the custodial case. This could either mean two things; that either Britney is as horrible a mother as Kevin claims or He is simply being a leech and worse-even, ready to use the kids to hang on to Britney spears money. Either way that does not exenorate Brits recent melodrama and outright bad publicity. Recently it was reported Britney has been doing things with all and sundry. Now that does not do good for her upcoming case whose hearing is scheduled on Sept 4. If she succeeds in filing for a delay in the hearing, she may as well dig up enough dirt on Kevin to equally discredit him from gaining total custodial privileges.Word has it that Britney’s gone and hired a private investigator agency to discredit Federlines recent Mr. nice guy persona. As it is, her publicist claims that she has enough dirt to bury Kevin in a 2 feet deep murk. In the meantime the tabloids are savouring on this folly as news seem to be streaming out of the former couple at dizzying speeds. One thing is true that none of the bad press coverage and witch hunting is doing their case any good. As the fortunes of pop star Britney Spears seem to keep gradually spiraling down, her ex-husband Kevin Federline appears to be conversely enjoying a continued bout of improved luck. Other than the failure of his rap album, public sympathy kept leaning more on his side during his much-publicized divorce from Spears, whose continued antics made him look much more mature by comparison. He also managed to secure a stint on the CW’s teen drama television series One Tree Hill as a regular member of the cast. Federline, more popularly known as K-Fed, used to work together with Spears on Chaotic.

However, Spears’ erratic behavior spanned a wide range of infamous acts, such as shaving her head, problems with drug abuse, and even down to lip synching terribly. And as of Wednesday, she began to feel stronger consequences when it was announced that custody of their children had been awarded to her ex-husband instead of her. Federline has also previously worked as a stage performer and dancer, though his steady job now is acting on One Tree Hill. His role of heading a local rock band was only supposed to last for three episodes, but the producers were impressed enough by Federline’s acting ability that they made him a show regular.

The salary that the show provides ensures that he’ll at least be financially stable enough to take care of the kids. Public opinion of their mother began to suffer when, among other things, she was often spotted driving them around without any proper safety restraints. Spears was also infamous for almost dropping one of her offspring while holding a drink in her other hand, and for asking a cosmetic dentist to turn her children’s teeth white with laser treatment after they’d had too much junk food, instead of a regular regiment of brushing and mouthwash.

Kevin Federline (K-Fed, Or otherwise now known as K-Fat) most definitely drew some attention to himself at a California sporting event the other day. (X Games) It definitely wasn’t over his golf skills though, it was over his new size.

At one point during Ryan Sheckler X Games Celebrity Classic, one of the employees on the grounds saw Federline and remarked, “Man, that’s a belly on him! That’s K-Fed?!?”

While other celebrities such as Verne Troyer, Frankie Delgado and Josh Henderson participated in competitive sports and games, Federline spent most of his time with his girlfriend Victoria Prince, lounging around a shaded patio, sipping vodka and orange juice cocktails, and smoking cigarettes. Maybe he should think about getting in some exercise and putting down those cocktails.
